A Sampler Tour of Tasmania. Day 6

In the last couple of days I've come to realise that there is simply too much to see in Tasmania during my short 2.5 week trip so I've decided to rename the trip reports to "A Sampler Tour of Tasmania" to reflect this. I'll use this trip to work out which parts I would like to come back and spend more time on.
Of course the morning I want to pack the tent up, we get some dew overnight so it is a little damp, but this gives me an excuse to stay in bed a little longer while the tent dries out. After coffee, breakfast and packing up, I'm ready to hit the road at a bit after 8 am. It's back down the Murchison Highway towards Queenstown, however after the Cradle Mountain turnoff, I hit a solid 20 km of roadworks with multiple stop lights and slow sections. It wasn't so bad for me as I was in holiday mode but the Suby WRX/STi in front of me was getting a bit toey. I turned off towards Corinna and Zeehan on the C252 for the scenic trip around Lake Pieman and Reece Dam before dropping into Granville Harbour. This was an odd little place with a mix of little tin fishing sheds and large new mansions.

I went back to the main road and continued onto Zeehan, which is a quaint old town that is looking a little deserted, but I had a nice lunch and some excellent double sars (Hartz).

Then it was onto Strahan, stoping at a few lookouts on the way for photos. I booked into the caravan park in town for a few nights and then went to find out where tomorrow's boat cruise leaves from, actually only about 10 mins walk along the Esplanade.

After this, I did a bit of grocery shopping and went for a drive out to the Ocean Beach and then onto Macquarie Heads where there is quite a nice looking camping spot. It is supposed to rain over night and clear up for tomorrow and I'm getting a little bit of drizzle now as I'm thinking of cooking dinner. There has been no wind so the sea is nice and calm and I'm hoping it stays that way for the cruise tomorrow.
